The size you design, and the sizes Apple makes
For iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the design canvas is 1024 × 1024 pixels. Apple’s system produces the smaller variants: the Home Screen icon, Spotlight, Settings, and the notification size. Uploading a pile of hand-resized PNGs is the old workflow. The file that matters in App Store Connect’s icon well is the large square that ships with the build.
Other Apple platforms keep their own canvases. Apple Watch uses 1088 × 1088 and a circular mask. Apple TV and Vision Pro use layered icons with their own dimensions. A store icon set covers the shared 1024 source, the dark and tinted appearances, and the Watch canvas.
Check the icon at the small size
A mark that looks rich at 1024 can turn to noise at the notification scale. Keep one symbol, strong contrast, and the edges of the square clear, because the mask cuts them. Storescreens shows the appearances together so you can see the small read before you export.
