App Store icon generator
App Store icon generator for the 1024 × 1024 icon
An App Store icon generator should give you the square Apple actually uses: 1024 × 1024 pixels, then the dark and tinted appearances the Home Screen shows.
What Apple actually asks you to upload
The App Store icon is one square image, 1024 × 1024 pixels, with no transparency and no pre-rounded corners. Apple masks it into the familiar squircle. You do not upload a separate notification icon for iOS. The system scales the same artwork for the Home Screen, Spotlight, Settings, and notifications.
iOS also keeps three appearances of that icon: the default, a dark version, and a tinted monochrome version. A store icon set makes all three from the same mark, so the icon still reads when the Home Screen changes color.
Kept beside your screenshots, in its own room
The screenshot editor stays a screenshot editor. Store icons open on their own dashboard page, with menus for the App Store, Play Store, and Android system files. The look can follow the sentence you already used for the screenshots, and the set is included in the plan you already have.
| File | Canvas | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| App icon | 1024 × 1024 | iPhone, iPad, and Mac |
| Dark appearance | 1024 × 1024 | Dark Home Screen |
| Tinted appearance | 1024 × 1024 | Tinted Home Screen |
| Apple Watch | 1088 × 1088 | watchOS, then a circular mask |
Common questions
Does Apple want a separate notification icon?
No. Apple scales the 1024 × 1024 app icon for notifications. A separate white notification silhouette is an Android file.
Should I round the corners myself?
Leave the file square. Apple applies the mask. Rounded artwork inside your file gets cropped twice.
Is this included with screenshots?
Yes. A store icon set uses the credits already on your plan and lives on its own dashboard page.
