App Store screenshot sizes (2026)
Every iOS App Store screenshot size Apple currently accepts — iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro — from the official App Store Connect specifications, plus the format rules that can block an upload.

The short answer
For an app that runs on iPhone and iPad, provide one accepted 6.9-inch iPhone set and one accepted 13-inch iPad set. Apple can scale those sets for smaller display slots. Apps that also run on Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, or Vision Pro need screenshots for those supported platforms.
iPhone screenshot sizes
The 6.9-inch display slot accepts three portrait sizes. Apple uses that set for smaller current iPhones unless you upload separate display-specific screenshots.
| Display | Portrait (px) | Landscape (px) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6.9″ display | 1260 × 2736, 1290 × 2796, or 1320 × 2868 | 2736 × 1260, 2796 × 1290, or 2868 × 1320 | Use one accepted size |
| 6.5″ display | 1284 × 2778 or 1242 × 2688 | 2778 × 1284 or 2688 × 1242 | Fallback if no 6.9-inch set |
| 5.5″ (iPhone 8 Plus class) | 1242 × 2208 | 2208 × 1242 | Optional legacy |
Which 6.9-inch iPhone size should you use?
All three portrait sizes are officially accepted in 2026, so pick one and use it for the whole set. 1290×2796 px is the safe default that most tools and existing pipelines produce, and it is what Storescreens exports. 1320×2868 px matches the native display resolution of the newest Pro Max hardware, and 1260×2736 px was added alongside the latest iPhone lineup. App Store Connect treats them equally — what matters is that every screenshot in the 6.9-inch slot uses the same accepted dimension, in portrait or landscape consistently.
iPad screenshot sizes
If your app runs on iPad, the 13-inch set is required; smaller iPads are scaled from it.
| Display | Portrait (px) | Landscape (px) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13″ iPad Pro (M4) | 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 | 2752 × 2064 or 2732 × 2048 | Required for iPad apps |
| 12.9″ iPad Pro (legacy) | 2048 × 2732 | 2732 × 2048 | Optional legacy |
Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro
| Device | Size (px) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch Ultra 3 | 422 × 514 | Accepted Watch size |
| Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Ultra | 410 × 502 | Accepted Watch size |
| Apple Watch Series 11 and 10 | 416 × 496 | Accepted Watch size |
| Apple Watch Series 9, 8, and 7 | 396 × 484 | Accepted Watch size |
| Apple Watch Series 6, 5, 4, and SE | 368 × 448 | Accepted Watch size |
| Apple Watch Series 3 | 312 × 390 | Accepted Watch size |
| Mac | 2880 × 1800 | 16:10. Also 2560×1600, 1440×900, or 1280×800 |
| Apple TV | 3840 × 2160 | Also 1920×1080 |
| Apple Vision Pro | 3840 × 2160 | Landscape only |
Why App Store Connect rejects screenshots
These are the most common reasons an upload fails or a submission gets flagged:
- Off-spec dimensions. The width and height must exactly match an accepted size for the display slot — even one pixel off is rejected.
- Alpha channels or transparency. Apple does not accept images with transparency. Flatten PNGs before upload.
- Wrong file format. Only .jpeg, .jpg, and .png are accepted.
- Too many images. The limit is 1 to 10 screenshots per device size and locale.
- Mixed orientations in one slot. Keep a consistent portrait or landscape set per display size.
- Misleading content. Screenshots must accurately represent the current app experience.

Common questions
What is the official App Store screenshot size for iPhone in 2026?
Apple's official App Store Connect specifications accept 1260×2736, 1290×2796, or 1320×2868 px in portrait for the 6.9-inch iPhone display slot. Upload one accepted 6.9-inch set and Apple can scale it for smaller iPhone display slots.
What sizes do iOS app previews and screenshots use?
In the App Store Connect media manager, screenshots use the exact pixel sizes on this page, such as 1290×2796 px for the 6.9-inch iPhone slot. App previews are videos with their own resolution and length rules, so they are uploaded separately from screenshots.
What is the App Store screenshot size for iPad?
The primary iPad size is 2064×2752 px (13-inch iPad Pro, portrait). 2048×2732 px is also accepted. One 13-inch set covers all smaller iPads unless you upload device-specific sets.
How many screenshots can I upload to the App Store?
Up to 10 screenshots per device class and locale. The first 3 portrait screenshots (or the first landscape screenshot) appear in App Store search results, so they matter most for conversion.
What file format do App Store screenshots need?
App Store Connect accepts .jpeg, .jpg, and .png screenshots. Use one of Apple's accepted pixel dimensions for the relevant display slot.
Are Apple Watch screenshots required?
Apple Watch screenshots are required for watchOS apps. Current accepted portrait sizes include 422×514, 410×502, 416×496, 396×484, 368×448, and 312×390 px. Apple requires the same Watch screenshot size across all localizations for an app.
What's the fastest way to create screenshots in these sizes?
Storescreens exports accepted App Store sizes automatically, including 1290×2796 for iPhone, 2064×2752 for iPad, and 410×502 for Apple Watch. Always match the export to the display slot you plan to upload.
