iOS app icon dark mode
iOS app icon dark mode, tinted, and default
iOS app icon dark mode, the tinted appearance, and the default icon are three versions of one 1024 × 1024 mark.
Three appearances, one mark
The default appearance is the full-color icon. The dark appearance keeps the mark recognizable on a darker field, for people who use a dark Home Screen. The tinted appearance is a monochrome version of the same mark, because iOS recolors it to match the wallpaper tint.
If the dark version is only a dimmed copy with no contrast, it disappears. If the tinted version still depends on several colors, the system tint has nothing clean to color. A store icon set exports all three from the mark it just designed.
Still not a logo factory
These files are the store’s icon, matched to your screenshots. They are not a pack of interface symbols for buttons inside the app. That work stays out of Storescreens, and the screenshot editor stays on its own page.
| Appearance | What changes |
|---|---|
| Default | Full-color icon |
| Dark | Same mark, darker field |
| Tinted | Monochrome mark the system can color |
Common questions
Do I upload three icons to App Store Connect?
The appearances belong with the icon in the app project. The store icon set gives you the three canvases to bring into that project.
Will a colorful icon work as the tinted one?
Tinted mode wants a single-weight mark. The set includes a monochrome export for that appearance.
Does this change my screenshot project?
No. Appearances live under Store icons.
