About this dataset

StoreScreens.ai is an independent screenshot creation tool, not an Apple service or an Apple-endorsed source. This dataset is based on Apple’s current App Store Connect documentation. Its HTML, JSON and CSV formats are generated from the same specification data used by our Screenshot Size Checker.

All dimensions are width × height in pixels. The reference includes currently listed legacy display classes. An accepted size is not necessarily a required upload slot. See the App Store Screenshot Sizes guide for practical advice on choosing your export.

Across screenshot sets, Apple lists 110 images in .jpeg, .jpg, .png format. Alpha channels and transparency are not allowed. These rules concern screenshots; video and icon specifications are separate.

JSON and CSV data contract

The JSON endpoint returns one object with schemaVersion, lastVerified, source, units, uploadRequirements and a records array. Each record has a stable id, platform, displayClass, deviceExamples, portraitDimensions, landscapeDimensions, requirement, scaledFromDisplayClass, notes and usageGuidance.

Dimension arrays contain integer width and height fields. An empty orientation array means no size is listed for that orientation. A null requirement means Apple does not state a separate requirement for that class; it does not mean the platform needs no screenshots. Device names are a subset of those listed by Apple, and empty device arrays mean this dataset does not supply model names.

CSV uses UTF-8, comma separators, quoted fields and CRLF line endings. It expands each record into one row per orientation and size, with separate width and height columns. The zero-based dimensionIndex preserves array order, including legacy variants with and without a status bar. Device names, notes and extensions are joined with | ; nullable values become empty cells. Shared metadata and upload rules repeat on each row.

Both endpoints are public, read-only and support cross-origin GET requests. No account, API key or screenshot upload is needed. They contain the last verified snapshot, not a live feed from Apple. Save the verification date with your copy; the schema version describes the format, not the freshness of the specifications.

Citing and using the reference

Link to this page for the human-readable reference, and include its verification date and official Apple source when citing the data. Apple’s documentation remains the authority if requirements change.

When you are ready to design your listing, the App Store screenshot generator helps create the screenshot set. Use the size checker to compare exported files with the same dimensions published here.
