What Does the Checker Validate?
This free tool from StoreScreens.ai reads the image content rather than trusting the filename alone. It checks exact width and height against Apple’s published screenshot sizes, identifies PNG or JPEG, checks that the browser can decode the image, and flags PNG alpha channels or transparency.
A dimension match identifies an upload size, not the device that captured the image. Some sizes match more than one display class. Choose a platform above to narrow the results; otherwise the checker compares all listed Apple platforms, including legacy sizes.
The checker does not evaluate your app’s content, visual quality, complete listing requirements or App Review eligibility. It does not resize files. A successful result covers only the technical checks described here.

What If My Screenshot Has the Wrong Size?
First select the platform your app supports. The nearest suggestion minimizes the pixel difference in width and height within that selection. It is a reference for correcting the canvas, not a recommendation to target a different device.
Return to your original design and export at an accepted size. If the aspect ratio changes, reposition the interface and text rather than stretching the finished image. Flatten transparent PNGs onto an opaque background and export without an alpha channel, or use JPEG. Recheck the exported file before uploading it to App Store Connect.

Is the screenshot size checker free?
Yes. You can check one or multiple files without an account or payment.
Are my screenshots uploaded?
No. The checker reads files locally in your browser. It does not send your screenshots to a server or save them in a StoreScreens project.
Why does a PNG with the right dimensions need changes?
A PNG can have an alpha channel even when it looks opaque. Apple’s screenshot requirements exclude alpha channels and transparency. Export without alpha or use JPEG, then check again.
Why does my screenshot match more than one display class?
Apple accepts some pixel sizes for multiple display classes or platforms. The tool lists every exact match within your platform selection; it cannot infer the intended app or device from dimensions alone.
Can I check JPG and JPEG files?
Yes. Both extensions describe JPEG images. The checker examines the actual file content, so changing another format’s filename to .jpg does not make it a JPEG.
Does the checker resize my screenshot?
No. It reports dimensions and the closest supported size when needed. Use your source design to change the canvas, then export and check the new file.
